The Machine Stops: E.M.Forster

Did anything in this story feel familiar? Did anything seem distant or difficult to understand?

- This story seemed very familiar. In the story it shows how the people are heavily reliant on the machine. In today's world, just like in the story, we heavily rely on machines to get through our day. Whether it's a smart phone or a laptop, we use machines on a day to day basis to simplify tasks and get work done. As time goes on, humans will be even more dependent on machines. Nothing in this story was particularly difficult to understand.

Why do you think we would we read such a story in a computer programming class?

- The reason to read such story in a computer programming class is to show that as time goes on machines will evolve and humans will continue to depend on them. It's showing the importance of machines and showing that computer programming is the future of our world.
